Recipe: Quick 3-Step Homemade Granola

Ingredients

500g Instant Oats, 1 full large round tub

6fl Oz Sunflower Oil

4 fl Oz Honey

Selection of mixed fruit, nuts and seeds (most ingredients in photo below are from Aldi)

1.  Put honey and oil in a saucepan, melt honey into the oil on a low heat for about 5 mins, until they have combined.

2.  Add oats to saucepan with honey and oil.

3.  Spread oat mixture out on a baking tray.  Bake in oven at about 180 for about 20 to 30 mins, or until golden brown and crunchy.  You should remove from the oven and stir every 10 minutes to prevent it sticking together.

4.  Remove from the oven, cool and stir in any combination of mixed dry fruit, raisins, sultanas, goji berries, cranberries, pumpkin or sunflower seeds, almonds, hazelnuts, brazil nuts, walnuts.  I also usually add a couple of spoons of flaxseed to really bump up the nutritional value.  Store in an airtight plastic container, and serve with yoghurt and some fresh fruit.
